Cambridge, UK, 27th April 2026 – Datamation Limited, the Cambridge-based developer of the Datamation universal Information Platform (uIP), announces the launch of its Shared Data Environments strategy — a new paradigm where businesses are no longer expected to bend their processes around the solutions on offer today.
With our Shared Data Environments approach, we design the solution to support our customers' business processes rather than the other way round. When those processes change to embrace new technology and industry best practice, our modular solution is changed by simply adding new modules and 'retiring' old ones in a planned way that minimises disruption to the business day-to-day operations.
Furthermore, by ensuring that data is fit-for-purpose at all times, we remove the need for high-maintenance, error-prone and non-value-add interoperability processes to make 'systems talk to each other'.
In short, our Shared Data Environments strategy is designed to meet businesses' current and evolving needs. Central to this strategy is the move away from the current generation of point-solutions where functionality is decided by the solution provider and built around the technology and best practices of the day.
Our Shared Data Environments strategy brings to software development what Henry Ford brought to hardware manufacturing over a century ago. That is, rather than build every solution from the ground up we 'assemble' them from standard or standardised components / modules.
Foundation for Next-Generation Solutions
To this end we are also launching today our:
- 1. DataShare family of products that can be seen as the 'foundation' for next-generation solutions.
- 2. AppShare family that represent the 'buildings' on that foundation — solutions designed to meet businesses' current and evolving needs without the non-value-add interoperability processes that are ubiquitous today.
